All speaking events are held within a grand, Jacobean manor hall, requisite with stunning portraits of past owners and their histories, including stories of Sir Walter Raleigh, links with Shakespeare and photographs of the house’s time as a WW2 Field hospital.
The history of Heywood Literary Festival is a short one, but a major figure has been James Heneage, co-founder of the Chalke Valley History Festival, who we thank for his support and encouragement.
